Now you are again in the content area, you can continue to type your formula, or repeat these steps to insert another symbol. When you activate a symbol, it gets inserted in the content area, the focus follows it, and so you are not anymore in the symbols area. Once you find the symbol, you can activate it with the usual activation keys (space bar, return or intro keys). You can exit an extra section using the Escape key, and not the arrow keys. You can expand it with the usual activation keys, and also with the down arrow key. To access these symbols, you have to expand the extra section. These sections are unlabeled buttons placed at right of related subarrays. Some infrequently-used symbols are hidden into folded sections that we call extra sections. Symbols in the same array have related meanings so you can find related symbols in all directions. In fact, a tab is a horizontal list of sub arrays some of them are 3×3, others 2×4, etc. Navigate inside the tab to find the symbol you want.īuttons inside a tab are not a list but an array so you have to use the left and right arrow keys, but also the up and down arrow keys. Their current solution of a Microsoft Word add-in doesn't meet my needs: The output is of noticeably poorer quality than the previous version of MathType since it creates images of formulas in the Word document. Note this is not on the MathType tab in Word it is in MathType itself. If you'd prefer not to see these, either click the Don't show me this again checkbox in the message, or uncheck the Show Tips command on the MathType on the Web sub-menu of the Help menu. If there isn't a newer version of MathType available, the version check may occasionally display information about other Wiris products that have been released. This command is in MathType Help menu, under MathType on the Web. If you want to check more often, manually choose the Check for Latest Version Now… command whenever you want to check for a newer version. MathType will normally perform this check once a month.
After checking the version, a dialog will be displayed letting you know the results of the comparison. The checks access the latest MathType version information via your Internet connection.
